2023-2024 Grant Recipients

Each year, HAEF awards grants to Holly Academy teachers to enhance student learning in the classroom. 
Diane Hoekstra, Beth Economou, Leigh Fitzpatrick & Audra Shoemaker –
Special  Education Department, All Grades ($1,500)
  • Boardmaker to allow for individualized activities and resources for all students.
  • Sensory Swing to support the sensory needs of students.
  • Education.com subscription to provide additional reading and math materials.
  • TPT Allowance to provide individualized activities for students.
Kim Thick – Husky Happenings, All Grades ($1,500)
  • Equipment for Husky Happenings will support the school-wide publication that helps promote our amazing school! This will be a huge time saving, as well as providing better quality videos and Husky Happenings.
  • Equipment includes a Teleprompter, iPad keyboards, storage containers, cold shoe adapters, hot shoe adapters, wireless headphones, wireless microphones, and much much more.
Lila Baumler, Rebecca Maly, Tracy Vana – 4th Grade Mini-Society
  • Equipment to support Mini-Society, an innovative program in which 4th grade students establish their society, spend and earn their own money, and open their businesses. Students learn about economics, government, ethics, and entrepreneurship in a fun way.
  •  Equipment includes STEM tools including a 3-D printer, 3D pens, a Cricut machine, and more.
Rachele Lawrence – 5th Grade Math ($1,500)
  • Math equipment to support the Holly Academy Strategic Plan to improve student math performance, providing creative ways to motivate and help students learn and support Power-Up.
  • Equipment includes Division Whiteboards, Multiplication Whiteboards, Stools, and Wave Seats.
Jennifer Melero  – Kindergarten ($636)
  • Boogie Boards provide children with a way to practice writing and drawing, a great resource to enhance fine motor skills, correct letter and number formation, and much more.
